The main story is there, but the gist for those who are link-phobic: Kiana Firouz is an Iranian LGBT activist, film maker and actress, who has starred in a documentary telling about lesbians in Iran, and she is now at risk of being deported from the UK to Iran to "answer for it". Since punishment for homosexuality there is not very nice (to put it most mildly), there is a petition one can sign here:

I'm wondering why this isn't receiving more media attention. Anyone have more info?

The census will determine how hundreds of millions of dollars of government money will be allocated.
